Terms of use

The short version: you must be 18+, verified, and honest. Hosts are responsible for their own parties. Look after each other. If something goes wrong, report it and call 999 in an emergency — Afterprty is not an emergency service.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Afterprty, run by Adam Lancaster in England (“Afterprty”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Afterprty app or website, you agree to them and to our Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Afterprty.
2. Who can use Afterprty
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must complete identity verification, which is reviewed by our team. We can refuse or remove access at our discretion, including if we can't verify you.
- You must give accurate information and keep your login details private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- One account per person.
3. What Afterprty is (and isn't)
Afterprty is a platform that lets hosts list parties and lets guests find and RSVP to them. We don't organise, run, supervise or attend any party listed on Afterprty, and we don't check the premises, the people there, or what happens at them. Verification confirms an account belongs to a real adult — it's not a background check or a guarantee of anyone's behaviour.
4. Rules for hosts
If you list a party, you are solely responsible for it, including:
- having the right to host at that address (including your landlord's or housemates' permission where needed);
- following the law — including on noise, licensing, alcohol and drugs, and fire safety — and any local rules such as university accommodation policies;
- not selling alcohol or charging entry in a way that requires a licence you don't have;
- the safety of your guests and your property, and keeping to the capacity you set;
- keeping your listing accurate and ending it when the party's over or cancelled.
5. Rules for everyone
Don't use Afterprty to:
- harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate against or harm anyone;
- share another person's address, location or personal information without their permission;
- list fake parties, impersonate someone, or mislead people;
- arrange the supply of illegal drugs or anything else unlawful;
- allow or invite anyone under 18 to a party found through Afterprty;
- spam, scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the app or other users' accounts;
- misuse the emergency report or location-sharing features.
6. Safety & emergencies
In an emergency, always call 999 first. Afterprty's emergency report alerts our team and lets us identify the host, but we aren't an emergency service and can't guarantee a response time. Use your own judgement: meet in groups, tell someone where you're going, look after your drink, and leave if you feel unsafe.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post (like party details, photos and messages). You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and process it so we can run Afterprty. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to post it. We can remove content that breaks these terms.
8. Premium
Afterprty is free to use. We may offer an optional paid Premium subscription with extra features. If you buy Premium through the App Store, Apple's terms apply to payment, renewal and refunds, and you can cancel in your Apple account settings. Features included in Premium may change over time.
9. Suspending or closing accounts
We can suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, and remove parties without notice. You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@afterprty.co.uk.
10. Our liability
We provide Afterprty “as is” and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We're not responsible for what happens at parties, for the conduct of hosts or guests, or for loss or damage caused by other users. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited under English law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and tell you in the app about significant changes. If you keep using Afterprty after that, you're agreeing to the new version.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales (or your local UK courts if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland).
